The BCCI is standardising fitness tests after injuries, cramps and inconsistent assessments during India’s England tour, The Times of India reports. The Bengaluru Centre of Excellence has set a 5.15 to 5.20-minute target for the Bronco test and a nine to 10-minute limit for the 2-km run. The Bronco replaced the Yo-Yo test as India’s primary assessment after Adrian Leroux became strength and conditioning coach. The Times of India reports that some senior players received easier targets and that medical staff at the CoE and with the team struggled to coordinate. Harshit Rana was reportedly cleared at 97 kg after returning from a knee injury, though the team later flagged him as four kg overweight. He is now 94 kg, with a 96 kg limit, and is expected to be cleared next week.
