# DC Mohammad Roshan wants Belagavi Ganesh Utsav to be a national model

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan on Thursday asked organisers to celebrate Ganesh Utsav in Belagavi as a model of harmony and perfect order for the country. He spoke at a preparatory meeting of Ganesh Mandals, idol makers and officials at Kumar Gandharva Bhavan. Roshan said all preparations would be completed well before Ganesh Chaturthi. He directed L&T to fill potholes on main roads and finish pending works quickly. He also said he would inspect sites along with the police commissioner and municipal commissioner. Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase said Belagavi’s population swells to about 14 lakh during the festival, but the city has only around 1,540 police officers. He asked Mandals to cooperate with the force and install CCTV cameras in pandals. Roshan said Supreme Court orders on sound limits must be followed, DJs are banned, and obscene songs should not be played. BCC Commissioner Karthik M said cranes, technicians and divers would be deployed near immersion points.
