# Bengaluru Police Arrest Bengal Security Guard Over Alleged TTP Links

Hebbagodi police in Bengaluru have arrested 23-year-old security guard Asaful Mallick from West Bengal for allegedly planning terrorist training and an attack targeting the Pakistan Army, The Hindu reports. The FIR says Mallick contacted an Afghan national whom police identify as a suspected Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan member. Police allege Mallick wanted to travel to Afghanistan for training and had applied for a visa, but abandoned the plan over financial and family concerns. The Hindu reports that investigators found social media chats, calls and audio recordings on his phone. Police registered a case under Section 113(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The allegations have yet to be tested in court.
