Rajkumar Yadav, 26, had claimed on July 6 that burglars stole a 15g gold chain, a 5g gold ring and Rs 21,000 cash from his house in Mangammanapalya. Police detained his friends Mohammad Iliaz, Thouheed and Shivanshu on July 8. They said they broke in but stole nothing, and led officers to a delivery bag with the drugs. Investigators concluded the theft claim was false, and with court permission registered a case against Yadav under Section 217 of BNS.
