Namma Metro's Yellow Line has carried over 3.8 crore passengers in its first year, with average daily ridership crossing 1.2 lakh by July, up from 81,365 in its first month. The 19-km line linking Rashtreeya Vidyalaya to Bommasandra began operations in August 2025, but delays in train supply meant it ran with only three trainsets initially. BMRCL now operates 10 trains with a frequency of seven minutes during peak hours. Meanwhile, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are at odds over extending the line. Karnataka plans a 10.5-km extension from Bommasandra to Attibele and has approved a feasibility study. Tamil Nadu is pushing a separate 23-km route from Hosur to Bommasandra, though Karnataka has rejected that proposal.
