# Bengaluru police detain 105 Bangladeshis in Operation Mukta

Bengaluru police detained 105 Bangladeshi nationals during a citywide verification drive called Operation Mukta that began on the night of March 28 and continued through March 29. The operation covered 91 locations in Whitefield and Electronics City, with over 600 personnel deployed. Police verified identity documents of nearly 3,000 people and took 40 suspicious persons into custody in Whitefield alone. In Electronics City, 15 Bangladeshi nationals were identified, with eight from Begur and seven from Parappana Agrahara. Whitefield DCP Saidulu Adavath said similar operations had been conducted before and that illegal immigrants would be deported after FRRO verification. Police also warned landlords against renting to illegal immigrants without verifying documents and registered 10 cases in Whitefield. State home minister Priyank Kharge said around 1,000 illegal migrants had been detected in the past three months.
