# FDA raids Bengaluru star hotels, seizes expired milk, rotten meat

The Karnataka Food Safety and Drug Administration inspected 26 three-star and five-star hotels in Bengaluru on Friday, seizing over 100 kg of expired chicken, meat, fish, and vegetables from one hotel alone. Officials collected 35 food samples for lab analysis. At The Lalit Ashok, they found 76 kg of meat, 200 kg of vegetables, and 32 litres of expired milk. Radisson Blu Atria yielded 105 kg of expired food. Health minister UT Khader, as reported by Times of India, questioned why hotels import meat from Denmark when local supplies are available. He said the crackdown aimed to send a message. Notices have been issued and adjudication proceedings will follow under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
