Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, has opened to strong box office collections, surpassing competitor Khalifa starring Prithviraj, according to multiple reports. The film, directed by Girish A D, released on August 21 and received positive responses from audiences and critics. m9.news reports that the film grossed over Rs 15.5 crore worldwide on Day 1, while Khalifa collected around Rs 13.25 crore. The outlet adds that Day 2 collections for Khalifa saw a dip, while Bethlehem Kudumba Unit's Day 2 numbers are expected to be higher. Tracktollywood.com provides a data-driven breakdown, reporting a two-day India-tracked gross of Rs 12.44 crore and an overseas gross of $2.55 million (Rs 24.50 crore), for a worldwide total of Rs 39 crore in two days. Tracktollywood.com notes a 65.2% increase from Day 1 to Day 2 in India, and predicts the film will close its first weekend with a worldwide gross near Rs 60 crore. m9.news cites trade experts suggesting a potential lifetime gross of over Rs 200 crore, while tracktollywood.com projects Rs 150 crore. The Onam holiday season in Kerala is expected to further boost collections.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

m9.news frames the story as a rivalry, using language like 'crushes' and 'dominates,' and speculates on a Rs 200 crore gross without citing data. Tracktollywood.com is more restrained, providing specific tracked figures and a Rs 150 crore projection. The key difference is tone: m9.news sensationalises the Nivin vs Prithviraj contest, while tracktollywood.com focuses on the film's actual performance. The measured takeaway is that the film is performing well, but the Rs 200 crore figure from m9.news appears speculative, while the Rs 150 crore projection from tracktollywood.com is based on current trends and may be more realistic. Watch for actual weekend numbers to confirm trajectory.
