# Bhagwat Says Gen Z Protests Are Not Anti-National

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday that Gen Z protesters should not be labelled anti-national and that their concerns about India’s education system are genuine. Speaking to around 2,000 Gen Z and Gen Alpha participants at an IIMUN event in Mumbai, he called protest a democratic form of dialogue that should seek consensus. Bhagwat said young people want logical answers and respect, and that dialogue should come before confrontation. He said he lacked complete information about alleged lathi charges and pellet-gun firing on students, but said facts must be established before assigning blame. Bhagwat also supported raising education spending to 6% of GDP and opposed banning social media for children, urging verification and self-discipline instead. India Today separately reports that he said reservations should continue while social inequality persists.
