# Bhansali to begin Madhubala biopic after Love and War wrap 2026-08-22T09:23:15+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Sanjay Leela Bhansali will start work on the Madhubala biopic in September, immediately after wrapping up production on Love and War. The final song of Love and War is expected to be shot next week at Royal Palms in Goregaon, and the same location will be transformed for the biopic, according to a Mid-Day report cited by both Times of India and Bollywood Hungama. The untitled biopic will be directed by Jasmeet K Reen and produced by Bhansali. It stars Sara Arjun, known for the Dhurandhar franchise, as Madhubala. The project had been delayed due to budgetary concerns but gained momentum after Bhansali joined as producer. Sara has begun preparing for the role to capture Madhubala's personality and mannerisms. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Times of India and Bollywood Hungama offer neutral, wire-style coverage, relying on the same Mid-Day source and quoting identical details. There is no divergence in framing: neither outlet adds commentary on the project's significance or the director's reputation. The coverage is uniformly straight reporting. For the careful reader, the key takeaway is the timeline: Love and War wraps by end of August, the biopic rolls in September. The budgetary delays that stalled the project and Bhansali's role as producer are the only contextual details worth watching for how the film's financing shakes out. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - timesofindia.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Straight wire-style report based on a Mid-Day source, no slant. - bollywoodhungama.com (neutral report) Neutral reportage, same source and facts, no editorialising.
