# BHEL teams up with Norway’s Hystar for green hydrogen electrolysers

BHEL has signed a strategic pact with Norway's Hystar AS to indigenise and locally manufacture PEM electrolyser systems for green hydrogen projects in India. The agreement was signed in Sangareddy by BHEL executives and Hystar CEO Fredrik Mowill, with Norway's Chargé d'Affaires present. BHEL had earlier tied up with Thyssenkrupp Nucera for alkaline electrolysers. The partnership makes BHEL one of the few Indian firms that can offer both alkaline and PEM electrolyser solutions. The state-owned company aims to strengthen its project execution capabilities in green hydrogen, an emerging clean energy sector where India hopes to become a global hub.
