# Bigg Boss Tamil season 10 to include three commoner contestants 2026-08-25T18:17:48+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Bigg Boss Tamil season 10 will premiere on Star Vijay on September 6 with a new rule change. For the first time, three contestants from the spin-off show Bigg Boss The Common Man will join the celebrity contestants in the main house. Bigg Boss The Common Man premiered on JioHotstar on August 16. It is hosted by former Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Maya S Krishnan, with Aari Arjunan, Oviyah and Raju Jeyamohan, all former contestants, serving as judges. The main show will reveal its full contestant list later. ## Indian Opinion Analysis This crossover blurs the line between the celebrity and commoner formats that Bigg Boss Tamil has kept separate since its first season. The spin-off, Bigg Boss The Common Man, was introduced only this year as a separate digital series on JioHotstar. By moving three of its contestants into the main show, the makers are testing whether non-celebrity participants can hold viewer interest over the full 100-day run, which has traditionally relied on known faces from cinema and television. The move also strengthens the franchise's integration with JioHotstar, the streaming partner. Viewership data from the first few weeks will show if the hybrid cast draws a different audience or dilutes the existing fan base. The show's format changes may also affect voting dynamics. ## Coverage - cinemaexpress.com Straight format announcement with no editorial slant or commentary.
