It adds a size beyond the existing nine standard sizes, which range from 450 mm x 300 mm for VVIP aircraft to 150 mm x 100 mm for tables. The Tricolour, adopted on July 22, 1947, must be made from hand-spun and hand-woven cotton khadi and features the navy-blue Ashoka Chakra with 24 spokes.
