# BJP challenges Rahul to hold student event in Telangana

BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao on Sunday challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to hold his 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' programme in Hyderabad. Rao alleged that educational institutions had withheld original certificates of thousands of students over unpaid fee dues, affecting their higher education and employment prospects. He claimed the Congress government in Telangana had failed to clear reimbursement dues for nearly 20 lakh SC, ST, BC and EBC students. Rao accused Rahul Gandhi of only visiting NDA-ruled states to hear student grievances while ignoring similar problems in Telangana under Congress rule. He challenged Rahul to hold the event at Ashok Nagar, where the Congress leader had previously made promises about job calendars and unemployment allowance during the 2023 election campaign. Rao said more than two-and-a-half years after Congress came to power, those promises remained unfulfilled.
