# Karnataka BJP MLA’s daughter booked for slapping woman police sub-inspector

On August 12, Aishwarya, daughter of Karnataka BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda, allegedly slapped and abused woman police sub-inspector Savitha at Aarathi Ukkada Temple in Srirangapatna during Bhima Amavasya. Savitha had asked Aishwarya to wait two minutes to avoid queue-jumping. The Kyathanahalli police registered an FIR against Aishwarya under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including assault on a public servant. Aishwarya filed a counter-complaint claiming the PSI abused her. The MLA apologised for his daughter’s conduct and said anyone guilty should face the law. The Karnataka State Women’s Commission has sought an action-taken report from the Mandya SP within three days.
