# BJP MP Anil Baluni escapes boulder crash on way to Uttarakhand tunnel site

Garhwal MP Anil Baluni narrowly escaped injury after a boulder crashed onto his Innova near Totaghati on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. He was travelling to inspect the under-construction THDC tunnel at Pipalkoti in Chamoli where a landslide had trapped workers a day earlier. Baluni continued his journey in another vehicle. The tunnel accident on August 14 killed seven workers and trapped 22 others. Nineteen were rescued. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the site and the hospital where the injured were treated. The state has placed Chamoli under a yellow alert for heavy rain and landslides.
