The country’s armed forces have given a fitting reply following the terror attack at Pahalgam in Kashmir, and the BJP will take out a Tiranga Yatra to celebrate the victory of Operation Sindoor, said BJP Karnataka unit president B.Y. Vijayendra.
In a press conference in Shivamogga on May 13, Mr. Vijayendra said that the country launched Operation Sindoor targeting terror hideouts in Pakistan. The operation successfully demolished terror infrastructure and resulted in the death of many terrorists.
“Within four days of the strikes, Pakistan pleaded with the United States for a ceasefire. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the nation and stated that the country will treat any act of terror as war. When India launched the operation, it received support from across the globe except China,” he stated.
Mr. Vijayendra said that BJP national president J.P. Nadda had instructed party workers to take out Tiranga Yatra across the nation. The party’s State unit would launch the yatra in Bengaluru on May 14.
“The event is apolitical. It involves people from all walks of life, including ex-servicemen, farmers, students, women groups and many more. The event will be held in Belagavi, and in Mangaluru on May 15, and the next day, on May 16, the programme will be held in all district centres,” he said.
Referring to RDPR Minister Priyank Kharge’s comments on the ceasefire, Mr. Vijayendra said that the ceasefire is not permanent. The PM had made it clear that any act of terror would be treated as war, and the country would give a strong response. “The armed forces have taken the violations of the ceasefire by Pakistan seriously,” he added.
