BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran urged the newly-formed TVK-led government to avoid a confrontational stance with the Centre, like the former DMK regime. He cited Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s Parliament reply that the NDA gave Tamil Nadu eight times the funds the UPA did. Nagenthran said the DMK acquired only 1,178 hectares out of 4,612 hectares needed for new railway projects. He called on the TVK to speed up land acquisition and support the Centre in boosting the state’s infrastructure.
