Bluehill.VC has closed its maiden frontier tech fund at ₹400 crore, including a ₹50 crore greenshoe option. The fund will back early-stage companies in defence, space, semiconductors, energy and advanced manufacturing. Investors include SIDBI and the governments of Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. The firm plans a concentrated portfolio of 15-16 companies with average first cheques of $1-2 million. Bluehill has already deployed over ₹100 crore across seven companies and aims to deploy another ₹80 crore over the next six months. Its portfolio includes space-tech startup EtherealX and counter-drone firm Zebu Intelligent Systems. However, the two sources disagree on the firm's founding year: Inc42 says 2017, while the Times of India says 2024.
