# BMC’s first cable-stayed bridge over railway tracks by Dec 31 2026-08-14T06:06:05+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet The BMC has set a December 31 deadline to complete its first cable-stayed bridge over railway tracks near Mahalaxmi station. The 803-metre-long, 17.2-metre-wide bridge will connect Saat Rasta with Mahalaxmi Maidan. A 78.5-metre-high pylon is already in place, and the 95-metre western span is complete. Work on the 165-metre eastern span, which lies within railway premises, will start only after the BMC gets a block from the railways. Five pillars are pending because of traffic diversions, and a service road is being built.
