# Bombay HC Bails Sena Corporator, Orders Goa Stay

The Bombay High Court has granted bail to Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre and four others accused of assaulting doctors at a municipal hospital in Thane district. The court ordered them to stay outside Maharashtra until the chargesheet is filed and until the trial court frames charges. Mhatre will stay at a resort in Goa and report to local police weekly, India Today reports. The court directed police to complete the investigation and secure State Forensic Science Laboratory reports within 12 working days, then file the chargesheet within five days. Maharashtra must appoint a special public prosecutor within 10 days. The July 6 incident followed an argument over alleged delays in treating a pregnant woman. The court said Mhatre had 18 earlier assault cases, with acquittals in 17.
