The Horticulture Department had given owners of agricultural land in Kil Kundha permission to clear boulders from their property. However, the landowners allegedly dumped at least two loads of the excavated boulders into a stream originating from Thaishola Estate and flowing into the Geddai Dam. Local residents fear the loose rocks in the dry riverbed could be displaced during heavy rain, endangering residents and nearby structures. Forest Department officials said the stream is on revenue land and that an inspection has been conducted. Tahsildar B. Gunavathi confirmed the landowners were told to remove the boulders and dispose of them on their own land.
