The boy had travelled independently to Muradnagar to visit Chhota Haridwar and was returning with his family when he accidentally got separated. He deboarded at Sahibabad instead of Anand Vihar where the rest of his family alighted. Station staff spotted the child alone and alerted the Operations Control Centre, which coordinated with Anand Vihar staff to trace the parents. The boy was handed over after verification by Delhi Police.
