# Brij Bhushan receives grand welcome in Gonda after acquittal

Former Wrestling Federation of India chief and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh received a large welcome in Gonda after his acquittal in a Delhi court case filed by women wrestlers. He arrived at Ayodhya airport by chartered aircraft, where supporters gathered with drums, music and slogans. His convoy travelled towards Gonda with hundreds of vehicles, fireworks and flower petals showered using excavators. Singh visited Hanumangarhi temple and the Nandini Gaumata temple before attending a Satyamev Jayate programme at Nandini Nagar. About 40 quintals of laddoos and more than 500 batuks were arranged. At the programme, Singh called the allegations politically motivated. Deccan Herald reported that the wrestlers had instructed lawyers to appeal the acquittal.
