BSE has advised investors and brokers, particularly those trading futures and options stocks, to understand the Closing Auction Session and its effect on closing prices and derivative settlements. The exchange’s notice does not state the new rules or their effective date, NDTV Profit reports. The Times of India reports that, from August 3, 2026, about 200 F&O stocks will shift from a 3 pm to 3.30 pm volume-weighted average to an auction running from 3.15 pm to 3.35 pm. Derivatives will trade until 3.40 pm. The report says the first session produced sharp price gaps, including a roughly 110-point difference between the Nifty and Nifty futures.
