# Telangana clears Rs.200 crore scheme to electrify 18,766 Hyderabad autos

The Telangana Cabinet has approved a Rs.200 crore scheme to convert 18,766 petrol and diesel autorickshaws in Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region into electric vehicles. Eligible drivers can receive a subsidy of up to Rs.1.50 lakh per vehicle. They may install an electric kit in an existing auto or scrap it and buy a new electric vehicle, Deccan Chronicle reports. The Cabinet also extended applications under the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation policy until October 31. Telangana Rising Global Summit 2.0 is tentatively scheduled for December 7 to 9 under the Invest Telangana theme, with the Future City plan due to be unveiled. The Cabinet also approved a Rs.500-per-quintal bonus for seven fine-paddy varieties and brought state ITIs, advanced training centres and polytechnics under Young India Skills University, Hindustan Times reports.
