# Career counselling programme held at school in Sheikhpura 2026-10-16T00:23:32+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet A career counselling and guidance programme was held on Thursday (15 October 2026) at Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya Sarva in Barbigha block, Sheikhpura. The event was organised under the direction of District Magistrate Shekhar Anand. Its aim was to help students choose better careers by informing them about education, employment, skill development and various professional fields. Students were told that academic success alone is not enough, and that timely career choice, goal-setting and planned preparation are essential. The programme emphasised the importance of proper time use. Career possibilities in medicine, engineering, government jobs, higher education and skill development were explained in detail. Students were advised to prioritise their own aptitude rather than imitate others. The session also covered preparation strategies for competitive examinations. Organisers urged students to take their future seriously, study regularly and make proper use of available opportunities. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The programme addresses a gap in rural career guidance, where students often lack structured information on options beyond local norms. The district administration's direct involvement signals an effort to formalise such support. The session's emphasis on self-assessment over imitation suggests officials see misdirected career choices as a problem. How many students attended, and whether follow-up mentoring is planned, remains unspecified. ## Coverage - bhaskar.com Straight factual report of an official event, no framing slant This brief was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
