Ten children died accidentally and 12 died by suicide, driven by poverty, familial issues, anxiety and mental distress. The Kerala High Court had sought the CBI's response on a PIL. The CBI interacted with families, neighbours and doctors, and submitted final reports to courts, which accepted them without any challenge from relatives. The Kerala police had earlier also concluded no foul play was involved.
