The money, cleared a few weeks ago, will buy extreme cold weather clothing developed by DRDO, snow boots, sleeping bags, goggles, gloves, tents and rescue bags for about 600 troops. The CRPF set up 55 TOBs above 6,000 feet after the April 2025 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists. In July, the home ministry fully authorised a CRPF proposal for the equipment to support long reconnaissance patrols and combat in higher reaches.
