# Hydroponic cannabis worth Rs 52 crore seized at Chennai, Delhi airports

Customs officials at Delhi's IGI Airport seized 47.8 kg of hydroponic cannabis worth Rs 48 crore from two Thai nationals who arrived from Bangkok on May 22, officials said. The seizure is among the largest at any Indian airport in recent years. Delhi Airport Customs Commissioner Arvind Saran said the two passengers were intercepted after crossing the Green Channel. Six vacuum-sealed packets were recovered from their baggage. In a separate incident, Chennai Customs seized 4.33 kg of hydroponic cannabis, valued at Rs 4 crore, from a Malaysian national who arrived from Bangkok on a tourist visa. The Air Intelligence Unit intercepted the 35-year-old after he gave contradictory replies. Four packets were found concealed in his suitcase. He was arrested under the NDPS Act and is suspected of working as a courier for an international drug trafficking network.
