Arun Pannalal, an office-bearer of the Chhattisgarh Christian Forum, was arrested late Friday in Raipur for a social media comment about Lord Shiva that allegedly hurt Hindu religious sentiments. BJP spokesperson Amit Chimnani filed the complaint, providing screenshots. Police booked Pannalal under sections 196, 299, and 352(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and he was sent to judicial custody. Bajrang Dal workers protested outside Pannalal's home on Friday night, leading to heavy police deployment. The original post was shared by Hansraj Goyal, whom police are still tracing.
