# Churchill Brothers face Mumbai City in ISL debut on 11 October 2026-10-10T14:42:28+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets (5 source reports) Churchill Brothers will make their Indian Super League debut against Mumbai City FC at Fatorda, Goa, on 11 October. The match opens a new top-flight chapter for the Goan club after it acquired Jamshedpur FC’s ISL licence and equity shares from Tata Steel. Rediff reports Churchill trained for 25 days after a late start, retaining 12 players from last season. Coach Dimitris Dimitriou expects a difficult match against Manolo Márquez’s Mumbai, but says both squads are newly built. Mumbai finished third last season and had seven weeks of pre-season preparation, although Márquez said international commitments affected player availability. Khel Now identifies Wayde Lekay, Vincy Barretto, Dramane Salou, Gaurav Bora and Sebastián Gutiérrez among Churchill’s players to watch. Predicted line-ups from Khel Now place Lekay against Mumbai’s defence and Wilmar Jordán Gil as the visitors’ central attacking threat. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Khel Now frames the fixture mainly through team news, predicted line-ups and individual players, while Rediff gives greater weight to Churchill’s late entry, training load and Dimitriou’s stated club-building plan. The two accounts agree that Churchill face a difficult debut and that both teams have had limited preparation compared with a normal build-up. Khel Now’s player-focused preview says little about the 25-day training period, while Rediff does not provide the detailed projected line-ups. Mumbai’s seven-week preparation is qualified by international absences, leaving the 11 October opener as the first concrete measure of how each newly assembled squad performs. ## Coverage Coverage: 5 sources, 5 neutral - khelnow.com (neutral report) Player-focused preview of Churchill’s squad and ISL debut - khelnow.com (2) (neutral report) Straight preview centred on Márquez, preparation and Mumbai’s ambitions - khelnow.com (3) (neutral report) Match preview with team news, head-to-head and predicted line-ups - khelnow.com (4) (neutral report) Straight pre-match report on a different Kerala Blasters fixture - rediff.com (neutral report) Reports Churchill’s preparation, coach’s vision and fan expectations This brief was synthesised by AI from the 5 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
