Disney has confirmed Coco 2, the sequel to its 2017 Oscar-winning animated film, with a release set for November 2029. The announcement came at the D23 Expo, where Benjamin Bratt revealed he will reprise his role as Ernesto De La Cruz, the villainous musician from the original film. Concept art showed Miguel as a teenager with his dog Dante. Bratt said De La Cruz is back for revenge, sending Miguel on an adventure to the Land of the Dead. Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina, who directed the first film, will return to direct. The original Coco earned USD 800 million worldwide, according to Sacnilk.
