The programme is run by Don Bosco Veedu Society and BREADS. The Collector said Kerala should not compete to be among states where drug abuse wreaks havoc, especially among adolescents and youth. The Hindu reports that smaller families, working parents, lack of playgrounds, and smartphone addiction are contributing to the rise. Girls are also increasingly addicted. Fr. Thomas P.D., State director, said Dream II will function in 10 districts till 2029, building on Dream I (2021-25).
