# Control room set up for power supply during Durga Puja in Hazaribag 2026-10-16T00:53:44+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited will open a control room on 16 October under the Hazaribag electricity supply division to ensure uninterrupted power during Durga Puja. It will operate until 21 October. Consumers can report complaints on three helplines: the Hazaribag electricity circle (6206187480), the division (8580073578) and the urban area (9431707881). Assistant electrical engineers are listed for urban, Katkamsandi and rural areas, and junior engineers for urban, rural, Katkamsandi, Ichak, Barkagaon and Banaso. Puja organisers have been told to use standard wiring, proper earthing and MCBs, obtain authorised connections and avoid power theft. Sub-divisional officer R P Singh urged committees to inspect installations regularly and residents to use helplines for any emergencies. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The opening of a dedicated control room shifts electricity management during Durga Puja from reactive complaints to a planned, coordinated effort. With four helplines and named engineers by area, JBVNL has created a clear escalation path aimed at resolving faults before they cause widespread outages. The directive to organisers on standard wiring and authorised connections directly targets the fire and electrocution risks that spike in temporary pandal setups each year. The measure covers only one circle, Hazaribag, and its effectiveness will be tested by response times when complaints come in simultaneously during peak festive hours, with the helplines closing on 21 October. ## Coverage - timesofindia.indiatimes.com Straight service announcement with no critical framing This brief was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
