Atlético Madrid have signed Argentina defender Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £34 million. The 28-year-old centre-back has agreed a five-year contract running until June 2031, the Spanish club confirmed. Romero made 156 appearances for Tottenham after joining from Atalanta in 2021 and captained the club last season.
