# CRPF constable found dead inside Manipur training camp 2026-08-05T23:12:17+00:00 | India | Indian Opinion Desk A CRPF constable in pre-induction training was found dead inside a camp in Manipur's Kangpokpi district on Wednesday evening, and Sapermeina police opened an unnatural death case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita while an investigation continues, Hindustan Times reported. The death came a day after a CRPF assistant sub-inspector in Assam's Nagaon district allegedly shot two colleagues dead and wounded a third with his service rifle before killing himself. Manipur's state police department, in its 2025-26 administrative report, put the deployment of central security forces there at more than 300 companies. Hindustan Times listed 206 companies of the CRPF, 100 of the Border Security Force, 21 Assam Rifles units, six of the Sashastra Seema Bal and five of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police in operation, alongside army and Manipur police personnel.
