# CRPF constable found dead in Manipur camp; inquiry underway

A CRPF constable undergoing pre-induction training was found dead inside a camp in Kangpokpi district, Manipur, on Wednesday evening, officials told Hindustan Times. Sapermeina police station has registered an unnatural death case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. Police are investigating, and have not disclosed the cause of death. The incident came after an unrelated Assam case in which a CRPF assistant sub-inspector allegedly killed two colleagues, injured another and died by suicide. Separately, Rediff, citing official sources and PTI, reports that CRPF suicides reached 59 in 2025, the highest in five years. It said 202 of 262 such deaths from 2021 to 2025 occurred while personnel were on duty.
