Stock markets this week will be driven by US-Iran negotiations, crude oil prices, and inflation data, analysts say. Last week, the Sensex rose 0.51 per cent and Nifty gained 0.76 per cent, even as the new Closing Auction Session rolled out and the RBI held rates. The RBI also announced a record Rs 2.87 lakh crore dividend to the government. This week, India releases July CPI inflation on August 12 and WPI on August 14, while the US publishes its own CPI and PPI data. Foreign investors bought Rs 12,921 crore in the first week of August. The Strait of Hormuz situation and quarterly results from HAL, Tata Motors, and others will also be watched.
