Chennai Super Kings have parted ways with head coach Stephen Fleming after 18 seasons, during which he led the franchise to five IPL titles. CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz that the team has not yet begun its search but has received many applications for an overseas coach. He said the final decision will involve MS Dhoni and captain Ruturak Gaikwad. Former India spinner R Ashwin claimed on his YouTube channel that England's 2019 World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan is the frontrunner for the role. Ashwin suggested Dhoni could handle the 2027 season before Morgan takes over from 2028. Times Now reports that a decision may be announced next week. NDTV Sports adds that England's limited-overs coach Brendon McCullum is also a speculated candidate.
