# CSMT Station To Get Free Library After Churchgate Success

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will get a free library for commuters, inspired by the ‘Library Junction’ at Churchgate station. The initiative, run by Project Mumbai with railway authorities, is already being set up, though a launch date is not yet fixed. The Churchgate library, launched on June 5, 2026, has registered 1,190 commuters and issued 1,500 books as of August 12. Nearly 950 books are currently with readers, with 100-200 people visiting daily and 20-25 new readers signing up each day. No fee is charged.
