# Cyril Shroff launches GC leadership academy with IIM Ahmedabad

Managing partner Cyril Shroff, in collaboration with IIM Ahmedabad, has launched the Cyril Shroff, IIMA GC Leadership Academy. The academy is a philanthropic initiative of Shroff and his family, aimed at developing General Counsels as enterprise leaders beyond traditional legal skills. It will cover boardroom leadership, business and finance, strategy, technology, AI, emerging risks, and global peer learning. Shroff told Bar & Bench that the in-house legal community has been neglected, and the academy intends to impart leadership skills to make GCs more than just lawyers. Paridhi Adani, cited by NDTV, said modern legal leaders operate at the intersection of finance, capital, technology, policy, regulation, and business, yet lack formal training. The academy plans to offer at least two executive education courses in its first year, using IIM Ahmedabad's case study method.
