# DDA clears Delhi-2047 Master Plan, allows Yamuna floodplain use

On Wednesday, the Delhi Development Authority cleared the Master Plan for Delhi-2047, allowing regulated development on the Yamuna floodplain and commercial growth in 70 peripheral villages, including Tikri Kalan and Mehrauli. The plan splits the floodplain into O-1, where construction is banned, and O-2, where parks and recreational uses are permitted. It raises Floor Area Ratio in Green Development Areas and reduces the minimum sector size for land pooling to 20 hectares from up to 300 hectares. The plan now goes to the Union housing ministry for final clearance. But experts told Times of India they want concrete measures to clean Yamuna and ensure infrastructure keeps pace with development.
