Debutant Nitish Sharma, who plays Shatrughan opposite Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s 'Ramayana', has called his casting a ‘divine’ intervention. In an Instagram video, Sharma said he was dropped from a big-budget film in 2023 without explanation and returned home heartbroken. While reading the Sundarkand at his family’s Hanuman shrine, he received a call from casting director Mukesh Chhabra offering him the role. Sharma has seven years of theatre experience and has appeared in ad campaigns for brands like Toyota and Manyavar. 'Ramayana: The Introduction' releases on November 6.
