Deepthi, a native of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, dies in U.S. road accident

Vangavolu Deepthi (23), a native of Rajendra Nagar in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, died while undergoing treatment for the multiple injuries she had sustained in a road accident a few days ago in Texas, U.S. Deepthi’s body is likely to reach Andhra Pradesh on April 21 (Monday).

The accident had taken place when a car hit Deepthi while she was walking on the road along with her friend Snigdha, who also hailed from Guntur district, Deepthi’s father Hanumantha Rao, a businessman, and mother Ramadevi said on Friday. Snigdha, who also suffered injuries, was undergoing treatment, they said.

Pursuing her MS in the University of North Texas, Deepthi was planning to return to India after completing her course shortly.

It is learnt that Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications P. Chandrasekhar is using his good offices in bringing Deepthi’s body to India.
