Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused Home Minister Amit Shah of silence over alleged police brutality against students during a July 20 protest march in Delhi. In a social media post, the Leader of Opposition demanded accountability, saying “lathis and pellets rained down on children” and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “doling out pardons” instead of apologising. Earlier at a ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event in Prayagraj, Gandhi said degrees no longer guarantee jobs. He claimed manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and public sector avenues were shrinking, with public sector employment falling from about 14 lakh to 7 lakh due to privatisation. He also alleged banks favour large corporates over young entrepreneurs, and that social media and delivery platforms distract youth from joblessness.
