# Delhi court rejects NEET accused lie detector plea; NTA outsourced biometric checks

A Delhi court on Monday dismissed a plea by three accused in the NEET-UG paper leak case to undergo lie detector and brain mapping tests. The CBI opposed the move, saying the accused cannot dictate how the investigation should proceed. The court also deferred taking cognisance of the 20,000-page chargesheet until Wednesday, noting the documents were voluminous. Separately, an RTI reply obtained by India Today has revealed that the National Testing Agency outsourced biometric verification to third-party vendors through EdCIL without directly vetting them. This comes after Bihar Police arrested 30 people, including biometric verification staff, in an alleged dummy-candidate racket at three exam centres in Lakhisarai. The NTA said it is conducting an inquiry into biometric-related irregularities.
