# Delhi doctor murder plot foiled, two gang hitmen arrested after shootout 2026-08-22T03:32:40+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Delhi Police crime branch personnel shot and arrested two hitmen of gangster Himanshu Bhau early this week, foiling a plot to murder Dr Narendra Sharma, owner of RRM Hospital in Bakkarwala. The suspects, identified as Sameer (19) and another teen, were intercepted near a flyover in northwest Delhi after intelligence inputs indicated Bhau had issued death threats over extortion demands. Police said the duo crashed their SUV into a utility vehicle while trying to flee a roadblock, then opened fire with 9mm Glock pistols. Cops fired warning shots and then returned fire in self-defence, injuring both suspects. Two pistols were seized and the men were taken to RTR Hospital for treatment. Bhau, who is believed to be in the US, has 17 murder and extortion cases against him and an Interpol Red Notice. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Himanshu Bhau, barely 24, has become one of the most feared gang leaders in Delhi-NCR, known for directing his operatives to fire dozens of rounds at businesses that refuse extortion. The National Investigation Agency, Delhi Police and Haryana Police have been conducting joint raids but Bhau continues to operate remotely. The next step will be to push for his extradition from the US, which requires a formal request through diplomatic channels. Watch for any Interpol-led arrest in the coming months. ## Coverage - timesofindia.indiatimes.com Straightforward police narrative with no editorializing, attributed quotes from a senior officer.
