# Delhi High Court Stops Bihar Firm From Using Nintendo Name

The Delhi High Court has temporarily restrained a Patna-based real estate company from using “Nintendo India Private Limited” or the mark “NINTENDO”. Justice Jyoti Singh issued the interim order on July 29 in a case filed by Japan’s Nintendo Co. Ltd., which said the name could mislead the public about an association with its gaming business. Nintendo said it discovered the company’s registration in November 2025 and sent a cease-and-desist notice in February 2026. The court found the names nearly identical or deceptively similar, citing Nintendo’s reputation in India and internationally. The restraint will remain in force until further orders.
