# Delhi maps 20,000 premises for Independence Day security

Delhi Police has digitally mapped and verified more than 20,000 houses, offices, hotels and guest houses around the Red Fort ahead of Independence Day. The exercise records residents, tenants, domestic helpers and employees through the eParikshan application, replacing paper-based verification. Police said the app uses GPS location tagging, photographs and unique identification numbers, and can work without an internet connection. More than 25,000 Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed across the capital. Over 1,000 CCTV cameras around the Red Fort are linked to AI-based video analytics and monitored from a control room. Security arrangements include layered screening, anti-terror response teams, mock drills and checks at markets, transport hubs, parking areas and other sensitive locations.
